Avison Young Hires New Principal

Before joining the firm, Thomas Collins served as CEO of his own consulting firm, Collins Strategies. Prior to that, he spent two decades at Cushman & Wakefield.

One month after adding a new global director of research, Avison Young has selected Thomas Collins as its newest principal and managing director. Based in the Boston office, he will be responsible for the firm’s day-to-day operations in the Boston and Hartford, Conn., locations. He will also lead Avison’s regional expansion strategy and recruit talent in the New England area.

Prior to joining Avison Young, Collins founded and served as CEO of consulting firm Collins Strategies. Before that, he was managing director for Atlantic Retail Properties. Between 1994 and 2014, he served as Cushman & Wakefield’s executive managing director in the New England region.  

Collins holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Bentley University. He is a member of NAIOP Massachusetts and former NAIOP State board member. Collins has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance since 2005 and currently serves as its chair. He is a past president and board member of the Commercial Brokers Association and a past board member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board.
