10 Federal has purchased two self-storage facilities in North Carolina— including a former Store Room property in Durham and a Minnie’s Minis asset in Lowell—marking the firm’s fourth and fifth self-storage acquisition.

Located at 3822 S. Alston Ave. in Durham, the former Store Room facility comprises 39,415 square feet. Built in 1995, the property occupies 3.8 acres alongside Highway 55 and is within 10 minutes of the intersection of Interstate 40 and the Triangle Expressway. The facility comprises units ranging from 25 to 1,250 square feet. Amenities include drive-up access, parking, RV parking and security cameras.

The Lowell property is located at 718 Robinson St., just south of Interstate 85 and Wilkinson Boulevard, on a 2.2-acre parcel. Completed in 1973, the five-building facility features a total of 29,840 square feet. Property amenities include a gate and drive-up access.

10 Federal plans to upgrade the technology of the facilities to support unmanned operations. New installations will include a kiosk rental center, model unit, proprietary overlock system and the expansion of the company’s call center facilities.

In November, the company acquired Superior Self-Storage, an 18,825-square-foot facility located in Asheboro, N.C.
