I’m not sure how I missed this, but miss it I did.  NAR’s June 2014 Commercial Regulatory Report is available for free download, containing updates and summaries of  recent NAR actions in the regulatory space, including FAA, EPA, SEC, GSA and SBA.  If any property in your portfolio involves air, ground or finance (find me one that doesn’t!) you need to check out the report.

EPA Lead Paint Methodology Questioned By Commercial Properties Coalition

Does the EPA’s own framework for determining potential lead paint hazards in commercial buildings skip Congressional directives?

The Real Estate Roundtable and real estate trade groups in the Commercial Properties Coalition last week filed the latest in a series of comment letters relating to efforts by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to regulate purported lead paint hazards that may arise from renovation and remodeling activities in public and commercial buildings.

EPA Lead Paint Rulemaking: Delayed Three Years

Environmental Protection Agency SealThe Environmental Protection Agency has further delayed its plans to propose and then finalize a Lead Renovation Repair and Painting (LRRP) rule for potential lead-based paint hazards in commercial and public buildings.

By Dec. 31, 2012:  EPA will announce a public hearing to gather info on renovation activities and possible lead hazards in commercial buildings, and will hold the public meeting by July 31, 2013.
