{"id":7536,"date":"2026-10-20T07:34:56","date_gmt":"2026-10-20T07:34:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/blog\/?p=7536"},"modified":"2026-10-20T21:39:35","modified_gmt":"2026-10-20T21:39:35","slug":"nordstrom-plans-new-rack-store-san-francisco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/blog\/nordstrom-plans-new-rack-store-san-francisco\/","title":{"rendered":"Nordstrom to Open New Rack Store in San Francisco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Seattle-based fashion retailer Nordstrom, Inc. recently announced plans to expand its physical footprint and economic impact in the San Francisco Bay Area with the opening of a new Nordstrom Rack store in the Union Square neighborhood of San Francisco.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to bringing Nordstrom Rack to downtown San Francisco and serving our customers with an amazing offering of great brands at great prices,\u201d said Gemma Lionello, president of Nordstrom Rack. \u201cCustomers will be able to take advantage of our convenient services such as online order pickup from both Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com, and they can make returns easily.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new location, scheduled to open in fall 2027, will span 51,500 square feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/retail\/us\/ca\/san-francisco\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Francisco retail space<\/a> at 2 Stockton St., in a property that is owned and managed by Invesco Real Estate.<\/p>\n<p>Nordstrom has deep roots in the San Francisco Bay Area and continues to invest, including the October 2025 opening of its Nordstrom Local Fillmore location in the city&#8217;s Pacific Heights neighborhood. The company currently operates 21 Nordstrom stores, 70 Nordstrom Rack stores, and six Nordstrom Locals in California.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNordstrom has a long history in San Francisco and we&#8217;re excited to bring Nordstrom Rack back downtown,\u201d said Erik Nordstrom, co-CEO of Nordstrom. \u201cThe city has many wonderful assets, and it has clearly built momentum in making downtown a great place for customers. We look forward to welcoming new and returning Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack customers to our store.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThree years ago, companies were leaving San Francisco,\u201d said San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie. \u201cToday, they want to be here, and Nordstrom Rack&#8217;s decision to return to the heart of our city is another sign of the growing confidence in San Francisco.
