California-based general contractor and construction management firm DPR Construction recently announced the completion of construction at the Waterline, the newest and tallest skyscraper in Austin, Texas.<\/p>\n

Rising 74 stories above Red River Street, the Waterline is a mixed-use tower that combines five distinct uses and was designed to integrate well with the downtown environment.<\/p>\n

Developed by Lincoln Property Company and Kairoi Residential, Austin\u2019s new skyline icon topped out at 1,025 feet, which makes it the tallest building in the state of Texas.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis\u00a0monumental\u00a0and highly complex\u00a0project reflects what\u2019s possible\u00a0when an extraordinary team aligns around a shared vision and never loses focus on execution,\u201d said Seth Johnston, executive vice president of Lincoln Property Company.<\/p>\n

\u201cWaterline pushed every assumption about scale, complexity, and coordination,\u201d said DPR Project Executive, Brett Bickford. \u201cThis was a massive undertaking, and we wouldn\u2019t be where we are today without our talented and resilient team of skilled craft professionals and trade partners.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spanning 2.7 million square feet with a footprint of more than three acres, the skyscraper creates a vibrant, ground-level connection to Waterloo Greenway\u2019s 13-acre Confluence, which opened in June. It also encompasses residential, hotel, office, retail, and parking into a single vertical destination, one that the developers have described as \u201ca city within a city.\u201d<\/p>\n

Waterline includes 703,000 square feet of rentable Austin office space<\/a> across 26 floors, complete with 28,000 square feet of indoor amenities and a 24,000-square-foot outdoor amenity deck.<\/p>\n

Indoor amenities include: a gym; a library; a lounge; meeting spaces; a conference room; a storage and prep kitchen; a bar; team building spaces; focus rooms; collaboration rooms; and training rooms. Plus, the outdoor office amenities include a terrace, walking paths, and gathering spaces.<\/p>\n

Waterline\u2019s retail component is 27,000 square feet of shopping and restaurant space set creekside and along the building\u2019s level 1. The tower\u2019s top 33 floors are dedicated to luxury residences.<\/p>\n

According to statements regarding the skyscraper\u2019s topping out, construction involved more than 150 trade partners and 6,800 skilled workers.
