The National Wildlife Federation (NWF) has renewed its lease at Metro Center<\/a>, a 184,000-square-foot office building located at 1200 G St. NW in Washington, D.C., just three blocks from The White House.<\/p>\n

In 2017, the non-profit secured a 12,910-square-foot space in the building and has now opted to extend its stay at a more favorable rate and for a longer term, according to Cresa.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe leveraged\u00a0favorable market conditions\u00a0to renegotiate NWF\u2019s lease, seizing the opportunity to deliver substantial cost savings and ensure an opportunity for growth and stability for the foreseeable future,\u201d\u00a0said Erica King, a senior vice president with Cresa.<\/p>\n

Specific terms of the lease were not disclosed.<\/p>\n

Since 2017, the National Wildlife Federation \u2014 the nation\u2019s largest private, non-profit conservation education and advocacy organization \u2014 has made this building its National Advocacy Center.<\/p>\n

The building\u2019s proximity to Capitol Hill and other government agencies was a key factor in staying in place as it offers convenient access to stakeholders and decision-makers whom the organization deals with regularly, King added.<\/p>\n

Representing the owner, Landow & Company, were JLL\u2019s Evan Behr and Meghan Murray. The property was developed by Landow & Company in 1991.<\/p>\n

Metro Center is a Class A office building that includes a fitness center, conference room and retail spaces. Other tenants in the building include counseling center Thrive; the Tax Executive Institute; and law firm McNees Wallace & Nurick.<\/p>\n
